Is your child getting bored at Home? Try these 7 child engaging activities!!

Published on September 9, 2015

1) Set up a Mini Bowling in your porch: Take empty bottles and fill few of them with some beans to add little weight. Now ask your kid to roll the ball to strike the bottles fall.

2) String them up: Give the child a few items which has a void centre (big beads, disks, buttons). Ask him to string these things in a series and make a circlet/headband. This activity will improve his motor skills.

3) Bubble time: Babies love bubble play. Make the solution using a tear free baby shampoo. Give straws and let them fill the air with bubbles while you keep popping it. Switch roles if they want to pop them out.

4) Play with Bottles: Take different colored bottles and exchange their caps with one another. Ask your child to match the caps and place it on their respective bottles. This builds logic in your child.

5) Fun in the Corner: Kids love showcasing their artistic side by coloring the walls. You can bring a big storage box and let them in (Cut windows and make a doorway keeping one end open). Let him draw on all sides of the walls freely.

You can also make a fabric tent house (Hang fabric on a quilting hoop) and give away stuff to color.

6) Play some Music: Toddlers find their way to kitchen and often try to gain access to your kitchen utensils. Let him carry some clean vessels to his music space and enjoy drumming the vessels. This is an old fashioned play idea but it remains kid’s favorite.

7) Spot the Photo: Kids today are as snapholic as their mommies. Open the gallery and you will find them giving you a competition in the no. of clicks. Play the ‘who is who’ game.

You can ask them to find the picture of some xyz item they have taken a picture of. It helps recalling information.
